Getaway to Coorg !!

After a very long time... finally, we (my wifee n me) decided to escape from the city life and shortlisted few places and selected Coorg... As found on the web, Coorg - The Scotland of India... I would rather call it this way, Scotland - Brit's Coorg !! (coz, source is always the reference)

I had booked my tickets in AIRAVATH (KSRTC Volvo Bus) a week ago and was waiting for 'the day', Reached Bangalore Bus Stand aka Majestic a couple of hours before... Tried my best to get a decent seat / place to spend the remaining time. (Resultant: Output from Wifee) We seated ourselves in the bus comfortably @ 11:30 PM and took a short nap... as short as 6 hours; As I was very particular in reading the reviews (by victims / fortunate experienced Webbies), Did a bit of R&D and booked a HomeStay called "Honey Valley" (Shall not write intro on Honey Valley here... rather promote my compliment to Chengappa's family http://honeyvalley.page.tl)

We reached Virajpet Bus station @ 5.00 AM in the morning, We were scheduled to join 'Anuradha', who would reach Virajpet stand at about 6.30 AM approximately... Inquired about Anuradha's visit with a local Cop (Got an opportunity to speak in Kannada that is seldom in bangalore), who was quite co-operative (The Shy-type Cop). We had no choice than to wait in the dark bus station of Virajpet.. Had a cup of Hot Coorg Coffee to refresh and was waiting sleepily !! My Wifee took a quick nap again and I guarded the baggage !! Soon I discovered some chirping sounds... Looked around and was amazed to hear after a long-time, The last time I heard Birds chirping in Bangalore was probably, when I was in my 7th Class !! Well, Finally.. Saw some birds and quickly identified.. SPARROWS !! Delighted to see them... Could see one more thing that was extinct in Bangalore, hmmm.. Probably, Kannada !! (Well, People used to communicate in Kannada in Bangalore) after a nice observation, my eyes caught the morning fog that was flowing in the air... BLISS !! I immediately woke up my wifee and asked her to take a snap with the fog (Nevertheless.... forcefully, I did it). It was 6.30 AM and we couldn't find any traces of Anuradha at all. On further inquiry, we discovered that we are in the wrong place. OOps !! Took our baggage and ran in some directions (supposedly, a short-cut) and finally reached a main-road and inquired in one of the bakeries (My Malayalam speaking skills were used...)

There She comes - ANURADHA:
Finally, we were delighted to see Anuradha who would drop us in Kabbina Kad (Place where we can get picked-up by Honey Valley Personnel).... Anuradha was nicely decorated in Red and with a lot of colors as well -a perfect private bus that could carry us to Kabbina Kad !! After an hour of Roller-Coaster ride, We reached Kabbina Kad at 7.40 AM...

Jeep-Ride !!
A 4 WD Jeep was smiling at us with the label -Honey Valley on its forehead.. Delighted and boarded along with my wifee... There was another gang of boys (3) who had come to Honey Valley [that disturbed our privacy and was quite pale all the ride...] However, the Jeep ride was a typical one of those and enjoyed it to the core. The driving guy (Din't mention Driver - you 'll know later) was very humble and showing us some waterfalls and other sights... we could hardly see anything as everything was vibrating there... (Courtesy: Jeep ride). Jeep ride is about 20 -30 minutes from Kabbina Kad to Honey Valley ! We were delighted to rest for sometime after a 'refreshing' jeep-ride. The driving guy introduced himself to us as Mr. Suresh Chengappa (the owner of Honey Valley Estate) Greeted with a smile and made us comfortable with some rest rooms to refresh (as our Check-in time was at 12.00 PM)

[Too Sleepy to blog now... Shall continue and finish the entire trip ASAP]

My Wifee asked me to blog this...

Now, We shall discuss a bit of some serious stuff in this blog... the day before yesterday, I was casually reading a newspaper.. till my eyes spotted this column titled :

"Techie hangs self, blames her colleagues"

Shall definitely not post the entire article... hence the link http://epaper.timesofindia.com/Default/Client.asp?Daily=TOIBG&login=default&Enter=true&Skin=TOI&GZ=T&AW=1222682462031

Now, for a glimpse in a nutshell... This Techie alias Software Engineer was working with Nokia and has claimed that her colleagues (Managers) are responsible for her decision of committing suicide...

I was shocked to see this news and wondered as to how many people be undergoing similar situations...
YES !! I agree that people might have grown up in various customized environments and yet be difficult to adjust to the situations / scenarios immediately...

Let us take a situation similar to the above incident - Manager / Head humiliating his/her sub-ordinates, juniors, colleagues,....
Juniors (for eg. SONI)
Soni (courtesy: TOI) who was 25 years working in an environment which is nowhere spoken about captivation... One shall be frustrated by the decisions, humiliations, sarcasms from her managers... and what runs in her mind is nothing but to avoid the blame by her Manager(s)! This is absolutely not a dead-lock situation.. and wonder why people take such harsh decisions against the nature...

From the Manger(s) point of view:
As told earlier, the environment where they are raised strongly replicates their character they build... Say for Eg. We'll consider Soni... who had taken all humiliations and grown up to a PM standing years of frustration... would tend to vent out (where??) While, she gets her juniors under her(scapegoat developers)... at some point of time... the domination continues...

This might not be the fact... However, We can summarize all these people into "Ignorant" Category... where they lose almost everything !!

It is a bare truth that the Managers are always in pressure... We guess how human tendencies would be ?? Right !! We can either sit with them and discuss everything as matured human beings or probably... take up the second model [Call-it-Quit Model...]

My Point of View:
It is okhay to get humiliated a couple of times.. to discover if there is any learning that needs to be done and when you can't stand it anymore... one will definitely run out of options.. here are some of the options below:

>> Voice-Out Model:
Voice out your opinions in such a way that everybody will understand your concerns... and one or two might approach you to address the same... (on a optimistic side)

Secondly, On a pessimistic side... Noone will understand you and will come to your rescue... Vent out all the frustration you have on your Manager / Sub-ordinates to make sure that you have conveyed everything... a stinker or vocal, either one should be good enough...
[And all this... you need to do after you are relieved from the organization's services... for your safety only- to continue your career growth]

>> Call-it-quit Model: This is a famous model infamous to discuss.. Most of Indians will do this trick and it works !! Move all your papers, Get all the KT done... Look for a better opportunity, Ride on the career curve... without leaving a mark that you were frustrated !!
[Benefits: Appraisal with new working environment] ;)

I think that's the way one needs to take the life... and design it appropriately according to our needs... Mostly called as Customizing !!

Now, for the viewers (if any)... Plz write your views and add all possible key-words like the ones i have added... in anticipation to serve those depressed souls, who are in need of an ear to listen to all their concerns, worries, etc...
Key-words: Depression, Harassment at work, Rude Managers, fed-up in life, suicide, suicide note [anticipating the other viewers to fill the space for a cause...]

Hi Wifee...

Always wanted to key-down all my experiences... However, was pre-occupied in professional life... I am a 'Pukka Workaholic guy' or rather 'WAS' one... Life takes such a turn... you will always wonder what happened ?? and hardly get time to realize why it happened ! From Workaholics to present day scenario, I will be the first one to sign-off and always wait for the weekend ! This is the transition of a person who hardly knew what weekend actually was...

In 2007 (June or July), I came back from KL, Malaysia with a high hope that my empire is yet to start to establish my business !! As I had some time for my VISA, thought of joining a company to earn few bucks as a stop-gap arrangement

Love struck !!
In this company [Name not disclosed, as this doesn't appear in my professional profile always...] My eyes captivated a beautiful & Intellectual human being. Initially, Though it was not L-A-F-S... thought that it would be an honor to know such a being / sole on this earth. Started a casual conversation, assisting with technical stuff [knowledge sharing]..

Impression Stage !!
With or Without my knowledge, I started impressing her... Appearing in front of her way and surprisingly telling a casual 'Hi'... (Same old college-book stuff) Also, filled in 'Lemon Tea' (which had a great impact in the rest of my life.. of course! Positive !!) later on, shared the table for breakfast / Lunch... Lime Juice with salt n pepper was almost a daily gift from my side...

Turning Point !!
We exchanged our numbers for Tech Support purpose... the word 'Intellectual' that was mentioned in the earlier paragraphs was completely justified after striking a conversation... I had never spent so long hours on phone and neither did I wait for any phone call so desperately (not even a client / customer call)

then.... in the next one !!
